USS Gudgeon (SS-567) launched

On 11 June 1952 Tang-class submarine USS Gudgeon (SS-567) was launched at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, sponsored by Mrs. Robert A. Bonin. She was leased (later sold) to Turkey as TCG Hizireis (S342), and is now a museum ship in Izmit, Turkey.

On 11 June 1971 Knox-class frigate USS Ainsworth (DE-1090) (now TCG Ege ) was laid down at Avondale Shipyard, Westwego LA.
She was transferred to Turkey on May 27, 1994 as TCG Ege (F256), and is now a museum ship in Izmir, Turkey
