I’m a retired museum director that got his first museum job polishing brass on the SS Keewatin when she was moored in Saugatuck, Mi.
Fun times I had working 10 hr days for $1.50 per hour. Loved every minute of it.

Glad I found this group.

Welcome to the forum Philk!
Don't hear much about the Keewatin lately, I hope that is good.....

So now that you are in NC, are you volunteering at the USS North Carolina?

Thanks for the welcome. Last I heard the Kee was moved and restored somewhere in Canada I’ll have to look it up.

I offered to volunteer on the North Carolina but nothing ever happened. I must have fallen through the cracks. I should try again. If you have a contact there, I’d appreciate it.

Again, that’s for the warm welcome. I’m looking forward to all the info.

After some issues regarding yet another relocation, that story has died down, and Keewatin seems to be doing well in Port McNicoll, Ontario, Canada.
I have contacted some people on the Showboat in Wilmington and will bring you in contact with them as soon as I hear back.
Have a great weekend

Just 'spoke' to Kim Sincox - kim.sincox@ncdcr.gov, volunteer coordinator aboard the Battleship North Carolina.
Please contact her. She also send me attached list of available volunteer job descriptions.
Good Luck!
Pim
