"Bespokoynyy (Restless)" - 15th Project 956 Sarych destroyer ( NATO code - "Sovremenny class destroyer").
The ship was laid down at plant No. 190 named after A.A. Zhdanov, on April 8, 1987 (building No. 875), launched on June 9, 1990, entered the fleet on February 11 1992.
Initially, it was assumed that the destroyer "Bespokoynyy " would become part of the 193rd brigade of anti-submarine ships of the Pacific Fleet , but by directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy No. 729 / 11-0086 dated January 29, 1992, the ship was transferred to the Black Sea Fleet. On August 13, a fire broke out on the ship in a sauna, as a result one person died, the HF units of the Fregat radar station, some service and living quarters burned out . The next day on the ship a sailor committed suicide . After repairs on August 24 1992, the ship was transferred to the Baltic Fleet, to the 128th brigade of surface ships of the 12th surface ship division.
In 1994, the destroyer "Bespokoynyy " won the Prize of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. From October 10 to October 20, the destroyer ensured the visit of the Queen of England to St. Petersburg , for which she was awarded a diploma of the President of Russia . On May 23 1995, an incident occurred on the destroyer with an explosion of a cartridge in the barrel of an AK-630 . In the same year, the ship took part in the exercises "Baltops-1995". On June 3, 1995 she arrived in Aarhus ( Denmark ), on June 6 he was on a joint voyage with the American frigate "Taylor" and the Danish patrol ship "Hvidbjerner" in the Kattegat Strait . The next day she worked with the German submarine U-26 , on June 8, performed artillery fire at sea (the target was hit), worked with a conditionally "emergency" submarine, entered Gdynia on June 9, and returned to base from an exercise on June 20 . At the end of the year, she was recognized as the best ship in the formation.
The Bespokoynyy was the flagship during the exercise Baltops-96. At the end of 1996, the destroyer "Bespokoynyy " with the destroyer "Nastoychivyy" won the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Prize for artillery preparation. On June 12, 1997, the ship went to sea for the exercise "Baltops-97"; On June 14, she arrived in Gdynia, where she worked with the Polish submarine Ozhel. From May 13 to May 18, 1999, the destroyer "Bespokoynyy", together with the small missile ships " Liven " and " Passat ", paid a visit to Stockholm under the flag of Admiral V. Yegorov , during which she was practicing rescue operations with the Swedish Navy. The ship, while staying in Stockholm, was visited by 2,960 people, including Swedish Defense Minister Björn von Sydow. Visits to Denmark, Germany, Poland were also planned with the further participation of the ship in the exercises "Baltops-99", but due to the NATO military operation against Yugoslavia, all activities involving the ship were canceled. October 15, 1999the destroyer was visited by the President of Belarus A. G. Lukashenko ; the ship participated in air defense exercises with missile firing. In the spring of 2004, during the next exit to the sea, the destroyer lost its speed and returned to the base in tow. The technical readiness of the ship was restored by personnel, after which the "Bespokoynyy" went to sea in 2006 and, most likely, the last time, in 2007 (in the latter case, with artillery fire). According to other sources, the last release took place in 2009, but this information cannot be considered entirely reliable.
Soon, "Bespokoynyy" was completely immobilized - by order of the division commander (12th dna), the main engines were removed from it and transferred to the "Nastoychivyy". There is an assumption that this was done in the first half of 2008 so that the BF flagship, whose power plant was out of order, could make the planned July cruise across Europe. This event determined the fate of "Bespokoynyy" for many years to come. During 2012—2013. the media have repeatedly touched upon the topic of the imminent high-precision engineering and even the modernization of the ship, and in some publications it was said about the beginning of work as a fait accompli: “Repairs are being carried out in all directions, from navigational and electromechanical equipment to rocket and artillery weapons and communications. Hopefully that by 2015 the destroyer "Bespokoynyy" will meet the most modern requirements for the warships of the Navy ". In September 2016, the ship was docked at the Yantar Baltic Shipyard for conversion. The hull of the ship will be sealed so that it can be afloat without maintenance by a permanent crew. On May 13, 2018, the destroyer "Bespokoynyy" arrived at the place of eternal anchorage from the base of the Baltic Fleet. It was turned into an exhibit of the military-historical complex of the Western Military District , and for the students of the St. Petersburg regional branch of the Yunarmiya, the destroyer became a place for educational excursions.
