USS Intrepid CV-11 decommissioned

74 years ago today, on 9 April 1952 Essex-class aircraft carrier USS Intrepid CV-11 was decommissioned for the second time at the Norfolk Naval shipyard to  receive SCB-27C modernization to operate jet aircraft as an attack aircraft carrier.
