Gallup commissioned

80 years ago today, on 29 February 1944, Tacoma-class frigate USS Gallup (PF-47) was commissioned with Lieutenant Commander Clayton M. Opp, USCG, in command. She was later transferred to, an returned by the Soviet Union, and finally transferred to Thailand on 29 October 1951 as HTMS Prasae.
She is now a museum ship at Paknam Prasae, Thailand.
