USS Yorktown decommissioned

55 years ago today, on 27 June 1970, Essex-class aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-10) was decommissioned by her last CO, Capt. Owen Austin Kidd in Philadelphia, PA, and was berthed with the Philadelphia Group, Atlantic Reserve Fleet.
