USS McAnn laid down

83 years ago today, on 17 May 1943, Cannon-class destroyer escort, USS McAnn (DE-179) was laid down at Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, Newark, New Jersey.
She was first loaned, and on 30 June 1953 transferred to the Brazilian Navy as 'Bauru (D-18/U-28/Be-4)'.

USS Tang (SS-563) laid down

77 years ao today, on 18 April 1949 Tang-class submarine USS Tang (SS-563) was laid down as at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. In 1987 she was sold to Turkey as TCG Pirireis (S-343), where she is now a museum ship.
