USS Tang (SS-563) laid down
76 years ao today, on 18 April 1949 Tang-class submarine USS Tang (SS-563) was laid down as at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. In 1987 she was sold to Turkey as TCG Pirireis (S-343), where she is now a museum ship.
