USS Glendale (PF-36) laid down

83 years ago today, on April 6 1943, Tacoma-class patrol frigate USS Glendale (PF-36) was laid down at Consolidated Steel Corporation, Wilmington, California. Transferred to Thailand as HTMS Tachin (PF-1) on 29 October 1951, where she is now a museum ship at the Thai Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, Nakhon Nayok, Thailand.

Everett F. Larson commissioned

On 6 April 1945, Gearing-class destroyer Everett F. Larson (DD-830) was commissioned, commander H. Meyers in command.
She was transferred to South Korea on 30 October 1972 and is now a museum ship at the Gangneung Unification Park, Gangneung, South Korea.

on 5 April 1944 Tench-class submarine USS Thornback (SS-418) was laid down at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME.
She was transferred to Turkey on July 1 1971 as TCG Uluçalireis (S 338) and is now a Museum submarine at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Istanbul, Turkey
