82 years ago today, on 6 April 1944 River-class frigate HMAS Diamantina (K377) was launched at Walkers Ltd. in Maryborough, Queensland Australia, sponsored by Mrs Riordan, wife of the Chairman of Committees, House of Representatives and later Minister for the Navy.
